Elearning is learning that takes place through a computer, often over the internet. Benefits in the workplace include:
Cost: There is often a one-time cost to produce the training material, after which it can be used an infinite number of times to train large audiences without the cost of relocating the students, facilitator or paying for additional training sessions.
Convenience: Elearning can be made available 24/7 with an internet connection. Training can be paused and repeated so learning takes place at the user’s own pace.
Efficiency: Self-paced interactive learning can reduce the time it takes to learn material and improve retention by incorporating several learning techniques at once (e.g. listening, reading and user interaction).
Confidence: Material that is always available gives employees more confidence that they will have a reference if needed, and companies can be provided with proof of completion so they know their employees are being trained in the areas required.
ELearn@Work offers help throughout the elearning process. We can consult with your company to organize and focus your training materials, collect additional content as required, and record the processes involved. Or, if you have a lesson that already works for you, we can step in at the development stage and rapidly transfer the material into self-paced web-based training modules. After the training has started, ELearn@Work can also help with feedback, testing, and building forums and communities to expand the learning environment for your workforce. Visit our solutions page for more information regarding ELearn@Work products and services.
All you need to get started is a Subject Matter Expert (SME), or someone who can provide the training. We will then analyze the content and focus it into sections suitable for web-based learning, and collect the written or recorded material to begin the development of interactive training modules. Depending on your company’s requirements, other services such as translation, test preparation or online community development may also be involved.
The size of the training modules depends on the amount of content and the complexity of the subject matter. The turn-around time is largely based on the organization of the content up front. If you have a working presentation and script that you want to transfer to an interactive elearning module, a short presentation can often be developed in 1 or 2 weeks.
